i'm sure it has been brought up, but wondered if anyone has a way of making the JL hood vents functional?

first off...i need to buy a dremel tool set then figure a way of making the vents release the heat built up underneath...any ideas?

cheers, jeff

Fan and engine cooling is designed to function with a closed hood. It is possible that venting the hood will have no positive benefits, and potentially worse cooling due to disruption of design air flow.

Jeep worked hard on cooling the JT including a grille redesign to improve cooling and get tow numbers up. The diesel actually loses tow capacity due ostensibly to cooling inefficiencies.

So if venting the hood would provide any appreciable gains in cooling, logic would suggest that they would have done so.

Or maybe they can't see the forest for the trees, don't know, good luck with your endeavor
