Hello everyone, I'm planning on building a platform for the rear cab area of my Rebel to attach a fridge slide. Im getting hung up on how to anchor the platform. On one side, I can use the existing frame from the seat to easily bolt onto. However, I can't seem to find an easy anchor point behind the front seats. If I use the front seat frame, I'll have to make some custom made brackets to make it work. I definitely suck a working with metal. The other option I guess would be rivnuts in the floorboard. I'm not sure how sturdy that would be to hold the platform in place while the fridge is slid out all the way. And if I put rivnuts in the floor, would I need to remove the carpet so the rivnuts get a good seal? Any wisdom out there is greatly appreciated.

While this is true for a refrigerator at your house, it is not true for an automotive refrigerator. This particular manufacturer (costway) allows up to 30 degrees of tilt, to accommodate for driving uphill

You’re over thinking this… use the front seat mounts by taking a piece of 1/8” X 2” metal (steel or aluminum) flat bar the length between both seat mount bolts. Drill out the holes for the seat mounts, then add two extra holes for bolting your platform too.

Thank you. You are absolutely right. I am way overthinking and trying to over-engineer it. Appreciate the advice.

Over engineering is better than under engineering. You got this… can’t wait to see what you come up with.
