Hello Tisa, Welcome to Overland Bound.

I am the Northwest Director.

To help navigate through the forums, here are some links that can be filtered by “Region” prefix. We are in the Overland Bound North America US Northwest Region (US Northwest for short).

Overland Bound Meetups- is where all member generated rally points are posted in forum format for discussion of Rally Point and other types of Meetups. A meetup can be as simple as a group getting together for coffee, a trail ride, or a full in expedition with other Overland Bound Members.

Overland Bound Trip Planning- is a great place to talk about planning a trip wether by your self or as a group.

Overland Bound Routs: Downloadable- is exactly what it sounds like. Search, or share your GPX files here with a description of the route and POIs.

Share your Overland Routes- is similar time the downloadable posted above, but doesn’t require you to share the actual GPX file.

Overland Bound By Region < North America < US Northwest- is where you can find regional members discussing local events, Overland News, and general topics. It’s a great recourse to mete others in the regions.

Member Maps- a great trip planning tool. It can also be used to send out messages to members near your location, or a location you plan to visit.

Rally Point- a tool used to creat Meetups or send out an SOS.

Lastly, we have a monthly conference call on the third Sunday of the month starting November 15th, 2020 at 19:30 hours Pacific Time. I encourage everyone to participate in these calls as we mentor each other on various topics. November we are discussing Portable Power options.

Inland Northwest Monthly Conference Call

To better answer your questions about meetups in Washington, we need to know what town you are in/near or what part of the state. There are several monthly meetups happening a crossed the state, as well as a crossed the northwest. A lot of them aren’t posted very well due to social distancing restrictions not being the same a crossed the state and not every county falls into the same restrictions.

Any questions, don’t hesitate to ask myself or your member representative team. Again welcome Daniel and hope to see you on the trails.

I just moved to Washington and I am not seeing many meetups taking place in the PNW. Is anyone interested in planning a trip in the upcoming month or so? Let me know!
Howdy Tisa and welcome to OB! If you have not already, go check out Rally Point and narrow your search to the PNW region to see what scheduled events are going on. You have arrived at the beginning of the big cold/wet and folks in the area tend to hibernate so it is likely there is not a lot going on - in normal years... We are also going to start seeing snow closures in our beloved Mt hills real soon now and that is a big limiter as the roads do get closed. I tend to find the most "trip opportunities" by being involved in the forums; a lot of times someone will throw their interest to do a run out as a forum comment and one thing leads to another. I encourage you, if you have interest, to go create a Rally Point and make something happen!

Whereabouts in WA are you? I may just be your local member rep and would love your input on how to better engage local OB members.

Welcome to OverlandBound, and the Pacific Northwest Tisa.

There are a couple maps to look for - "Scenic Washington State 365 - Scenic Drives Road Map" and "National Parks and National Forests in the Pacific Northwest." The AAA (American Automobile Association) Western States & Provinces map, is excellent as well. What part of Washington State did you move to?

Not all of us go into hibernation ... We are hoping to plan an at least a day outing soon, hopefully before the beer virus shuts things down again:( Went out scouting around the mountain loop hwy for some open roads and possibly campsites last weekend, ended up with a blown out front brake line just before dark, made for a long slow trip back down the mountain. Hoping parts show up tomorrow to route the line in a safer location, then we will be looking to get back out for a bit of exploring. Will likely post up a rally point and on Facebook soon

Please keep us in the loop on any upcoming trips as well. We are wanting to get out and explore some more. We went on the Sugarloaf Peak trip a couple of weeks ago and had a wonderful time. My wife and kids all have got the urge now to get out and go again.

Now I know who you are! Sugarloaf trip was fun and I have more pics and the GPS tracks.

The only experience/contact we have had with other members here has been through the Overland Bound app. It is very clunky and hard to navigate. Last night we got on to the website and forums and were surprised how much we had been missing. We have been wanting to follow/keep in contact with you and the others that were on the Sugarloaf trip but the app leaves a lot to be desired. My wife has been doing a lot of research finding trails for us to go on but for safety reasons we are hesitant to venture out alone.

Well I am sure glad that you found the web site and it is getting you the data that you need! Really enjoyed your family and cannot wait to introduce all y'all to mine! Glad that your wife has picked up on trip planning - that is half (or some of) the fun! She can help navigate next time :)

@EchoFJ I see that you guys are only half hour from us, Things have been a bit slow in the group in the north end, hopefully if the covid doesn't shut us down again things will pick back up. It is nice to have at least a couple of rigs on an adventure as it really is a good safety net. Our last two trips resulted in mechanical issues, one of which resulted in complete loss of brakes when coming down some switch backs. Jeep is still in the garage waiting on me to do the repairs, hopefully this weekend or next, then we are hoping to put together a day trip perhaps with an overnight option for those that don't have enough sense to come in when its cold... lol. i will make sure to let you know when we plan something, or if we decide to be spontaneous and follow a wild hair.
