Pathfinder III
Hello folks,
@jgarber asked me in another topic about my roof rack which I made for my Jeep Liberty 2003.
So, here are they.
I made the rack pretty solid and with help of a template (DIY too) a plasma cutter and welder.
Simple rack but there were some thoughts about it.
1. I hate racks that are very high above the roof. To my opinion they take away the contour lines of the car.
2. If the rack is very high, your clearance in parking houses will be less.
3. It has to be sturdy enough to stand on it and carry some heavier loads occasionally.
4. With the new light bar I can run long pieces in full length without trouble.
Enjoy.

Did cut them and made an extra angle steel to hold the cross bars.

Started welding in the middle, as that is the smallest hight between roof and rack.

Done with welding and painting

View from the rear.

View from the side/front.
See how low the rack is.

View from the front.
This was the situation with the old lightbar, in 2018.
This is the situation now.

Total height of the rig is less as 205 cm. which 80.71 inch.
Because of that the Rig fits in most parking houses when the antenna is down. including sand boards and everything on the roof.

BTW
Roof rack on the trailer is also DIY and the front solar panel can be removed and placed in the sun while the trailer is in the shade.
I hope you enjoyed this.
