The F150 camper build worked well and lead us to doing another build off a F250 platform. I'll update more as I continue, but it has started.

I'm keeping a build log Here if you are so interested in following along or adding a suggestion or two.

I updated yesterday yet today shows promise of getting the upper loft and possible the roof in place. I have most of those pieces cut. Next update will have some pic's showing the in-life profile!

With rains for the next few days coming, I moved the frame in the garage and forgot to shoot a pic of the front angles. Sorry, yet best from in the garage..

Have to do a major cleanup in there and takeover the whole area if I hope to get anything done over the next few days.. I like the angles and the loft space! Don't like the height so much, but can deal with it for what we're getting.

Now I see I'm be using about all the steel I bought. That will put me at ~495lbs of skeleton framing. Being the bed was ~485lbs, not bad. Foam is ~6lbs per sheet (10 sheets?) so ~60lbs. The FG panel I need to weigh yet seems ~.5 sq foot so under 200lbs. Figure I'm adding no more than 300lbs with skinning, door/hatch hardware and maybe windows/vent. Goal was to stay under 900lbs for the enclosed camper adding only 400lbs overall (includes subtracting the bed. Of course some of this weight is more forward now due to the loft. One the 1.0 build (F150) I add Bilstien coil shocks and Moog coils up front. I'm curious if indeed I'll have to do the same again.. This F250 frame is much more robust!

Ready to meet 'Long Tall Sally' ?

Put her on the truck for fitting and some specific work. Gas fill has to be worked out, mounting brackets and I will do out-riggers this time to make removal easier. And of course... steps to get in her!

What Long Legs Sally has! 9'-8" at mid-ships...

Journal is HERE

Another update for ya's! The Journal is HERE for the play by plays.

I have the sides to the loft paneled and about to remove and lower the camper to do the front, rear and roof easier.

This is going to be huge! Maybe I missed it but are you replacing the F150 or adding this or building it for someone else?
Replacing Gen 1 for longer runs, maybe completely, haven't decided. Our thoughts of travel/exploring the new setup will work well! The F150 has been mine from birth, so I may reincarnate her again. Flatbed maybe??

Began final resining of panels in place today! Whoa! The plywood strips you see I'm using as clamps..

Putting full attention to the nose so I can get the cabin back on the truck! Thinking ~ Thursday... with the nose painted! So much has be done, but it's not noticeable. Details in the build journal.

Another milestone passed, I have my door cut & fitted! Now to infill and final install.

Dis-assembly, cutting re-assembly was much easier than I thought! So happy I found this door!!

Been a while since I updated.
That side is done, the roof is sealed and power vent installed. Doing a bit of faring as I proceed. Been concentrating on the back wall as it has several POI's to deal with.

That leads me to this question for ya's. Here's what I think I'm doing with the hatch doors. Personally, I think it could be done for entrance & windows DIY'ers.

If you can follow the picture, The angle exceeds the side wall in an attempt to push water away from the gap. Again the door is set back to further this attempt. The door is sealed by the gasket and the angle becomes the last means of defense of water intrusion. That should give me 4 points of defense of intrusion.

Any thoughts or improvements?

Haven't completed hatches due to rain, so working on other things!

Good day today even if threatening to rain.. Sanded out the back (even though I still have a hatch to complete) and first coat of final paint on both sides and most of the back.
I've build the rear bed and storage base and started the sink run on the drivers side. I'm building a pantry to the far right and that other open spot is the sink base. I want a hatch from outside to there. I'll get you there, but that's where my water storage will be, inside the camper.

Any wall units I'm attempting to stay extremely light with and trying something I think will work. I'll get you there also, but for now (teaser) think XPS and aluminum angle. I may have to salvage some off 1.0 build!

Big news is the Windows ar here on Tuesday! I'm stoked. Almost secondary is the 180° awning is here Friday! Next couple weeks are going to be busy!
