Trailer Modification - extending the trailer frame rails 6 inches as well as upgrading from a 1/8in C-Channel style to a 3/16in rectangular tubing style which will make this much stronger. This will also allow opening of the rear tire carrier without having to disconnect the trailer.
Back at Dave & Jacob’s preparing to modify
Original frame rails were a C-channel style frame – New frame will be a fully boxed rectangular tubing -
Old frame rails vs new frame rail - 1/8th thick vs 3/16 – fully boxed rectangular tubing which is also stronger and longer by 6.5 inches
New vs old U-bolts for frame rails – 1/2inch
New rectangular tubing rails being fitted/installed
Frame rails mounted up inside
Spacer bolted to frame well
Cut out on the backside to allows access to the bolts
Holes drilled to mount Lunette
Existing Lunette
U-bolts to hold frame to body
Lunette bolted to new frame rails
As the trailer was extended 6”, the previous propane tank mount was bending so we added a metal basket to house the tank and the power inverter box.
The trailer Modification is now complete!
