So far so good, be careful when you switch them out

This is a great DIY work, Robert! I like it!

I think you have built this safe and solid. But please be careful when you go under the car! Maybe there is a possibility to put something under the front and back or sideways for example (solid square timber, wheels, or something else) for safety purposes?

Have fun and success with the transfer case swap! Too bad we have the C19 restrictions, otherwise I would have come by and help out!

Just toss your extra jackstands and floor jack under there, just incase.

I use two tranny jacks the lift a Superduty or Ram for suspension upgrades, but toss some cribbage and my floor jack under there just incase.

No jacks that are around 65 cm. We will see tomorrow.
We do need the space but we will see what we need tomorrow .

I don't secure them or anything, I just extend them so if the truck falls, maybe I'll have 8" left to wiggle parts of me out.

Today it was working time. Together with @Claus_za I did change my transfer case.
We had almost no issues.
Just three.

1. A bushing from the shiftcable was gone. So I had to build one myself. No problem there.
2. When we tried to fill up the transfer case we did forget that the breather hose was down, so we lost like 600 ml of oil. Lucky me I had some spare.
3. The upper bolt on the exhaust side we just could turn, so after getting annoyed I made a slit under the gear lever. Then that problem was solved. Next time, which I hope will last a while I can easier acces that bolt.

The ramps hold the care perfectly and driving of it forward made things very easy.

All good!!

The breather hose we did extend that one and now it is up and above the coolant expansion thingy.

It was a good day of work.
Tomorrow a very easy test run.

Glad to see you got your Jeep back up on the rad Robert. I really like your ramp idea... wish I would have built a set for my Bronco before I tore it all a part

I paid about 130 euro's or so plus shipping for the steel. And Iam not a welder, but as long as it holds its fine.
Just go for it. Experience comew with the trial and error.

Nicely done.

I don't know how things compare over there, but over here you can fairly easily find bed frames for free, and that means free angle iron.

That said it is not quite proper angle iron. A bit on the thin side and a radiused corner. It requires some design considerations. But free steel is free steel and I can easily work around its differences for the price.
