It’s definitely a concern. The traffic volume on the roads the first month of gun season is going to increase 100 fold. Because of the increased traffic the roads will be worse and certainly more sloppy.
The bigger concern is the dramatic increase in people who think because they have hunted in the forest a few year that gives them ownership. In my experiences a hunter and a camper those guys are a real pain to deal with.
Just like always you have to be extra nice, always try to de-escalate any situation and try to avoid any potential conflicts. Unlike on roads there is no Johnny law to come split you up and save the day. You also know that everyone in the equation is going to be armed. So the stakes are high.
Make sure you know the approved camping locations before you go out and camp. Remember is you are just winging it you may end up camping where someone is preparing to hunt. You certainly can’t expect them to be happy with you.
Personally I stay out of the forests for anything other than riding and looking until hunting season is over or almost over just to avoid issues.
