Enthusiast II
Hey Overland Bounders!
Here’s my intro
I have been watching from afar, so to speak, while living overseas in Okinawa the last six years. It’s cool to see how overlanding has grown and specifically Michael’s tenants in how this community approaches the concept. Very cool!
Well life has brought my family and me back to the good ol’ USA and I wanted to get into an overlanding vibe so I picked up a used 2016 Ram Power Wagon to get started (in a modern way). We are now living in Olympia, WA.
I grew up in Wyoming in the 70’s and 80’s so I’m not a newcomer to this concept, but I do recall walking home or hitchhiking from the nearest major road I could get to several times when my Willys Jeep broke down in the backcountry...lol
I’m retiring after 25 years in the military as a seasoned Green Beret but “total newb” ,as my boys would say, to the modern way of exploring in a civilian vehicle with all the great information sharing and technology that exists.
Thanks for the great information and I look forward to the adventure! Mitch
