MesaJohn here from western Colorado.

I have joined Overland Bound, as I have some things to learn, as I am new to the endeavor. Starting this coming spring (2025), we are going to start doing a lot of 2 night, weekend trips to practice and hone our Overland craft, before we dive in to 1-3 week getaways. We aren't retired yet, but we have TONS of 'time-off' to blow and plan to use it all up. The wife is very adventurous, being a phenomenal skier and has ridden with me 2-up on Adventure bikes for the past 15 years. We desire to seek epic camping locations with amazing sunsets and we are HUGE Foodies and will be grilling something amazing every evening and breakfast the next morning.

I am guessing packing an FJ with all I want is going to be way easier than packing a bike.....hahhahaha.

Started my adventuring on motorcycles, back in 2007 and rode about a quarter million miles over the next 15 years, exploring much of the Rocky Mountain Region.

Still ride a lot of adventure motorcycle routes, but with me climbing into my late 50's, I began to look for adventure that wouldn't beat my body up so much and the wife could come along on the tough stuff... so two years ago we dove into a 2-up, Touring Quad, which has been a flipping blast.

Then this past year, we found a very lightly used FJ Cruiser with low miles for a 2007 and we began to equip it.
