Evening all. I just recently learned about this whole overlanding concept and think it’s really cool. I’ve been watching dozens of YouTubers and their adventures. Pretty amazing stuff out there! Not sure my wife would dig it, but I’m game. Maybe start with short trips and go from there.

I have a 2011 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman that would likely be my adventure vehicle. No Jeep trails for me, but I can live vicariously through others.

I don’t know if there’s any sort of community in Wisconsin, but I haven’t really been looking yet. I’ve heard tail about some folks in Michigan, though. Last time I was on a dirt road for adventure-related activity was in South Dakota when the family visited the Badlands and Custer State Park. Might be a good place to visit again.

Welcome to the forum from West Texas. Plenty of adventure opportunities without leaving the pavement. Just get out there an enjoy!

I am originally from Milwaukee. We used to take a trip to Nicolet national forest and Goodman forest often. You can camp dispersed. Great brook trout fishing.
I’m slowly learning about places you can take things off pavement in Wisconsin. Not as wide open as the western US, but there seems to be a few places we can go.
