For those of us not on FB.... what's the date for the one in October? Stuck at the house after knee surgery and will actually be here for onceThe Houston overland fb group is really active and has meets monthly, they’re typically at the red circle as shown in the pic.

Oh nice! Yea I’ve been looking in to building my 2 door jeep to over land in. I’m probably trying to set out for my first over land trip next December. Definitely looking to get out before then to try out anything I have added.I'm still standing (ha, now it's stuck in your head). Been doing a fair amount of play in the midwest though. Arkansas and Missouri have been treating us good. Down out of San Leon, always down for a brew and rig walk around when in town though.

Honestly don’t have nothing really done to my jeep just yet besides 35s lol so I won’t overland till next year when I’ll have mostly everything done to my jeep. I’ll be heading back home to Arizona so I know there’s a ton of overlanding trails out that way.OnX offroad. There are a ton of.... trails? So this will get you from the border to mostly across via gravel roads and fire trails. Sam houston has a few, 87 run from Beaumont to bolivar (all beach bit of mud... gross but fun), then the offroad parks for break-in and balance testing. Not much in the way of "overland" in this neck of the woods. Dirt roads to campsites mostly. But if you want to test your gear, may know a few spots you can drive to. Keep your weight low in the jeep or keep the lift short. On road is whatever, off-camber offroad is where the problems will start. When top heavy rigs unload the suspension, control goes straight out the window. View attachment 293079

Yea when i use to live in Arizona we did a lot of wheeling around the Buckeye, AZ area so definitely not afraid to wheel, unless it calls for some sort of lift since im stock on 35s lol. I'm definitely up for some trails around Texas when I'm in town since most of the stuff around us requires to go to an OHV park.I'm just a wheeler with a camping problem. I run factory suspension, 33s, and have a winch I'm not afraid to use. A jeep is more than capable factory to tackle just about everything you'll see here. Get out and explore. A cooler, a camp stove, and a ground tent can carry you a week. You're never far enough out to extra fuel cans or need a solid weeks worth of food, just hit the store on the way by.
