i needed to find a way to mount my hi-lift on my fj. was thinking inside, but it didn't fit anywhere well that fit my needs. thought about the spare tire, but it would block the camera and mounts are pretty expensive for that. the roof it is. a quick trip to home depot and this is what i ended up with.

basically a u-bolt and some washers and a wing nut and a little plate. x3.

the holes in the jack fit perfectly over the nuts. then slide on a washer and the wing nut and away you go. it's solid and doesn't make wind noise when i'm driving. yea it's heavy to get off the roof, but it works and i saved some cash for something i couldn't build.

Did a similar setup, but with exhaust brackets, a bolt, and a welder.
Worked just fine on my front bar. Kept it out of the inside where it took up too much space.
