Enthusiast III
I have been watching a lot of youtube lately and came across the Overland Bound series and liked the DIY apsect of the videos, i'm a pretty handy bloke so if i cant make i dont use it - within reason of course.
Been a camper since i was kid as a family of 6 with four sons my parents had us outdoors as much as possible, we spent a lot of of school breaks driving all over the country either towing a caravan or using tents.
Dad had Range Rovers all thru my childhood and early adulthood so naturally my first real 4wd was a 2dr Rangie, i wont count the Suzuki LJ50 with its powerhouse of 550cc 3 cylinder 2 stroke as a real 4wd although it would go wear my brothers trailbikes would go. Living in the state of Victoria we have a wide variety of terrain from snow capped alpine region in the NE to the deserts of the NW with lots of bush and open country in between, luckily the High Country is only a couple of hours drive from home which makes it possible to head off on a friday night after work.
Currently driving an 08 D3 (LR3) with TDV6 which is a pleasure to drive and gets over 30mpg, if the family comes we tow an offroad camper trailer or for solo travels i prefer my double swag which has plenty of room for 1 of my daughters, myself and my dog.
