Just went on the four day three night trans-Sierra drive from Little Truckee Summit on highway 89 to Highway 49. Henness Pass Road is an old stage coach route from Virginia City to the California Gold fields.

About 75 miles of a mix of dirt road and asphalt with some technical 4-wheeling.

We wheeled into White Rock Lake for the first two nights, and got camp set up lakeside prior to all hell breaking loose with a thunder storm. There was one really challenging section at the lake to get to the campsite, with a downhill into a sharp 90 degree turn to the left. Managed it with a turn to the right and a careful three point turn (with an expedition trailer in tow).

We then camped at Jackson Meadow Lake in a FS campground when we couldn’t find a dispersed camp and weather was coming on. There is something to be said for flush toliets....

It rained every day. Mosquitos were bad at White Rock Lake. We finished at the ghost town of Forest CA. This was my annual father/daughter trip with Aly! She is an overlanding trooper.
