Help - Wheels and Tires for an 08 Land Rover LR2

Hey everyone. I did a search on the site and couldn't find anything so if I am repeating something I apologize. There is a single mom that I work with and they have an 08 Land Rover LR2. The mom and daughter love the Jeep rigs I've built and want to play with their Land Rover. I have no idea how to help them. They are looking for wheels and A/T tires to put on it. Original equipment is P235/60-R18. I need sizes that will work. They love the beefy looking A/T. Stock suspension. What should I be looking at? Thank you everyone.

Yeah I know wheel and tire combinations for the LR series is limited. If you can find the specification of the rim you might have a chance? Need to know bolt pattern, offset, dish and will likely need a larger diameter rim to accommodate the brakes. If you have a local 4wheel Parts or another 4x4 based shop I'd bring it to them see if they can fit it. I doubt you will be able to increase the tire / wheel size much. Good Luck!

The Yokohama Geolander comes in 235/60/R18, according to tirerack.com.

As @1derer said, you can try 4wheel parts as well to help find something.

I looked at TireRack and found some options. Then I started looking at some different sites and they basically said that most aftermarket wheels wont work on it even if they say they will.

Hmm.. that's interesting that they wouldn't fit. In that case I would definitely say visit your local 4x4 shop and see if they can help you out. Are they willing to consider a lift?

Not really. They are looking at just being able to camp and "roughing" it. They have been bit by the bug, same as all of us, and they are just getting started. I'm trying to help, but I don't know European vehicles. I've read just enough to know you can make silly mistakes with Land Rovers.

Do they need new wheels? I would just slap on a set of good A/T's (Cooper's, BFG's, etc) and call it good.

Their LR2 is a very capable vehicle stock, even without new wheels.

Also keep in mind the LR2 does not have a low range transfer case, so bigger wheels aren't going to be too great.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but we are talking a LR Discovery 2 here right? They definitely have a low range on there! My mum had one and still has one now. I'm quite sure they come standard with low range!

I believe they are talking about the land rover LR2, it came later as a successor to the freelander. It's one of the "softer" Land rovers, but still mighty capable
