Hello, I am from Santa Clara county, Northern California.

I have been a hiker, rock climber and international traveler for quite some time. Between the work, family and life -- these have been my tool for balance.
And, I want more - traveling further, experience the lands less traveled.

Picked up 2013 FJ Cruiser not too long ago to start work on the rig. I love it.
I am still beginner on the overlanding; have so much things to work on my rig.
I would like to learn and any advise will be appreciated it.

Hi Matt! Nice to meet you and thanks for the greetings! First day here today, and so much to read. Having a blast!
I had to make choice between GX or FJ Cruiser. V8 on the GX, and the year 2009 sounds great. Subaru Outback -- a great choice that can do so much! Can tell that you are well experienced on outdoors just from these choices.

Sweet! Welcome, looking forward to any NorCal options you know about...I do a lot of travel from so cal to Oregon.

Nice truck. The FJ is a cool looking rig. I built up a Jeep WJ, I like it! Had a CJ5 but was small, but cool! I wish I lived somewhere out west coz Kansas City offers little to no wheeling to speak of. Later

We’ve got a meet up tomorrow! 1-3pm
I am the Bay Area member rep and I can help connect you to meet ups that are happening near you. In Pleasanton CA there is a meet up on the second Sunday’s of the month and it has a great regular turn out and active. The East Bay meet up has a great 2022 lined up and you are invited! You can see the plan under the second post in our thread.

Thank you, Dave. It was nice meeting you yesterday. I was very impressed by the group -- friendly and could feel the passion on the overlanding and the community. Glad that I was able to join yesterday!
