Hello there!

Been trying to into overlanding as hardcore wheeling is not my thing. I have had many types of rigs over the years but I think I finally got one that I will keep and actually use.

My rig. 1986 Jeep grand wagoneer that was a previous forest service Jeep (so all manual options) it had a running 360
In it but I stumbled upon a great deal on a 6.5 gm diesel, so I swapped that in along with a nv4500 and modded np241c. 3” rough country lift, 1inch body lift (needed for motor fitment) currently on 2.72 gears a 31’s hopefully by spring I’ll be on 33’s and 4.10’s can’t even use 5th gear right now.

I hope to find some knowledgeable people of good
Overlanding spots in Washington and some
Group events.

Hello PNW neighbor and welcome to the OB crew....great looking Jeep and look forward to seeing your build and your adventures. I love the classics and owned an 84 Grand Wagoneer myself. There's a group that gets together on the west side regularly. Check the calendar once you get your member bar active and then check the map for locals near you. Put the Northwest Overland Rally on your calendar for June. It's in the town of Plain over by Leavenworth. Any questions please feel free to ask our great members and there's tons of info too. I've lived on both sides of Washington and just recently moved. Welcome to the OB family.

Hi @Natecr from Northwest Washington. That is a great looking Wagoner! As someone that has done a little crawling and realized that I would rather be camping, I share the "not my thing" perspective.

The PNW is an overlander paradise and there are a number of great overlanding events occurring throughout the area, so I recommend checking out the Overland Bound NorthWest Region forum [link] for meetups. Events are also frequently posted on the Rally Point system [link], so you might want to check that out as well.
