New-ish member here. OB has been a great resource as I’ve been figuring out where to go in my area and what I need to get there and get back - so thank you to everyone for sharing your knowledge.

Experience: Somewhere in the middle. Growing up in rural North Dakota, we carried most of the standard “overland” supplies on a daily basis as a general response to the environment!
I am new to NJ and it is tough to find time to explore as much as I would like (work, young kids, house projects, yard projects, Rover projects...), but last week I spent a day exploring a few NJ state forests (following the north 1/3 of the Trans-NJ Trail) and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of trails, terrain, rivers, etc. I’m hoping to finish the rest of it soon.
