Welcome from Central Texas
We have a ground tent and carry our goods in two Lifetime coolers. However, if we could afford a hard side trailer, we would get one.

Welcome to Overland Bound from Missouri! If you search the forums you may find what your looking for with regards to your question. YouTube also will give you some ideas as well. I saw a good one a couple of days ago. Not sure if we can give the information here or not.

Rooftop tent vs off road teardrop camper? I live in bear country.
Welcome. I have a shell on my truck but my buddy I camp with a lot has a Teardrop and it is great. Not only do you have a secure area to sleep and store stuff but you have the secure kitchen on the back. I think it’s a great setup for such a small package. Good luck on deciding and maybe you’ll see us in our rigs as we head to and through Jackson later this month, can’t wait!

Thanks. I'm 80% trailer at this point. Trying to decide which one and what features.
