New to the group, just got a 2017 Nissan Titan Pro 4x and looking to get into Overlanding. Having a hard time finding good spots in this area, so if anyone has any ideas for a close shake down trip please let me know.

Thanks,

Welcome aboard. Also in the DFW area.

There are several OHV parks that are within a decent drive (haven't been personally, but I know they're out there and see a lot of good things about them). The area southwest of DFW (around Glen Rose) seems to be a good place to at least explore back roads. Aside from that, in our neck of the woods, just point the tires in a direction and see where you go.

Welcome. The OHV parks are really the best option around here to get off the pavement. The Pro 4X is a nice rig congrats on the new platform.

Welcome from Austin, TX. off road parks are good to learn how to negotiate obstacles, you can encounter during overlanding. They helps expose issues with your rig, in semi controlled environment. Great way to work out the bugs on a build. You can also learn the capacity of your vehicle.
