Just joined the Overland Bound community. Looking forward to getting the family out to some events.

Just getting started so I'm sure I'll have some questions along the way. First one is what type of radio is most commonly used between members? I know CB is really common but if you guys are primarily using VHF/UHF I'd rather start with that.

Thanks

Welcome from Bullhead City!

I use GMRS (So do the groups in my area) as it is way better than CB (No longer got cb), HAM of course is the best and most popular I would think.....

Here at OB at the top of the forums page if you need to find it, is our channels:
OLB Comms US: Ham:146.460, GMRS:15, CB:16 AUSTRALIA: UHF: Channel 21-476.9250  UK: PMR Radio, CB:11

Welcome!!!
Now to open the proverbial can of worms; Ham is the preferred OB radio to use with GMRS a distant second. You’ll find most OB’rs have switched to ham for clarity and distance on the trails. Scan the threads, there’s lots of info and class information on the forum. Good luck!!!
