Hello overland bound family. I am glad I found Michaels channel on YouTube which led me here.

I have developed some interest in the overland arena and want to see if it’s meant for me.

We have got a VW Touareg 2014 RLine 3L TDI stock so nothing is is done to it my first project is to get new tyres and I am hoping that I will get some pointers from the great community here.

My current tyre size is 175 45 R20 so not sure I will need to downsize or just get similar tire size that can do 50/50 I was hoping to get BFGs but unfortunately they don’t come in my size.

I look forward to learn from this community.

Hello from Seattle,
Guess I will be the first to welcome you. This is a great community. I am not new to automotive related topics but relatively new to this forum/ overlanding.
I will let others give you help with the tires as I dont have enough first hand experience there.
Be sure to check all the stickies and go around soaking all the info you can!

Are you sure you are running a 175/45 size tire on a 20" wheel?

That sounds way to small..
