Seems like everyone's done one of these, so figured I would too, since I'm killing time waiting for something at the moment.

Life long BC boy here, served in the army, currently a 10+ year law enforcement officer. I recently got interested in 4wd and off roading when I bought a house in the mountains, but I've always loved camping and outdoorsy stuff. This seems like a great community and when I get the funds, I'm getting a membership!

My rig is a 99 CR-V - "Ganbaru"

Thanks much!

Currently my adventuring opportunities are a bit limited, but I'm trying to arrange a full day trip through a historic back country route in BC. If we manage to make the trip happen, I'll probably do a little route post showing the area and highlights of the adventure. Cheers!

Welcome! I guess this may be a case of “the grass is greener on the other side”, but you’re a lucky man living in the coastal area of BC. That’s one of the prettiest areas in the world that I’ve ever seen. I love the whole PNW, but BC specifically is really special to me.

Oh for sure I realize how blessed I am. The view from my street is incredible. 20 minutes from my house and I can be on top of a huge mountain. It's a shame it's so darned expensive to live here, though! lol

I hear Southern Cali is bad, but I think housing prices and cost of living might be worse here, not sure.

We bought our 3 bedroom townhouse with almost no yard for 500k in 2016 and sold it 6 months later for 555k, and since we moved I think similar units were selling for 620. It's just nuts here.

Thanks all!

Kevtd - that looks like a sweet Montero you're driving. Do I have the vehicle ID correct?

Xj - I love the XJ. I couldn't quite afford one when I got my V, otherwise it may have been a Jeep I bought instead.

Kevtd is right though, I do love my CR-V. :D

CR-Venturer Actually it is a RHD Diesel Mitsubishi Pajero but it you would be hard pressed to tell that by the pic. But man is it ever sweet, never driven anything like it. Sadly I don't think ill ever get it out exploring again so right now my Volvo is my adventure platform.

Why won't it go exploring again? Mechanical issues?

Spat out a trans, finally found a replacement and got it in but now it makes this horrific knock and spews white.... Concerning since I never touched the engine. I also don't have a place to store it anymore so once I finally get it figured out I probably have to sell it or find a friend who will store it for me. (Also I realized that for the time being I can't have a toy truck AND propose to my girlfriend and I know witch one I'm picking haha) so it's a hell of a list against the old girl sadly.
