Hi All. I’m pretty far from the rest of the group I’d guess. Anyone have any suggestions for good routes in Florida? Thanks,
Jason
Good evening from Central FL!
While there aren’t the types of trails they have out west, there are some great areas to visit and camp in the central part of the state.
Withlacochee Forest has tracks in Croom, Citrus Wildlife Management Area, and Richloam (Green Swamp). There is also Ocala National Forest, which has Tread Lightly, which I think is 81 miles of trails in the forest.
Getting there you could always come up a State Route, or back roads.
I plan on taking the Tamiami Trail down to the Everglades, checking out the Skunk Ape Research Center and then on down to Key West.
You can overland to the beach in Daytona, cruise up A1A.
We are more populated, but there are still places to camp and things to see!
