Well, as of the first week in May, anyway. After 10 years in Illinois we're finally heading back west to what we hope will be our "forever home." Packing to move is awful, but at least we don't have to load and transport everything! We've been anticipating this move for about 4.5 months now and for a long time it felt like the day was never going to arrive. Now it feels like a locomotive about to run us over.

Anyway, looking forward to finally living somewhere with outdoor activities, places to explore, trees, mountains, etc again.

Bend is such a great town. I hope you love it there!
Based on our visits and research it really does seem like the goldilocks area for us. We've driven most of the US, often times wondering if various places could be are next/forever place to live. We love forests, mountains, rivers, the ocean, I love snow. Colorado was often at the top of my list but I knew it wasn't realistic because where I'd want to live gets way too much snow. We also love having 4 seasons and we swore we'd never move back to CA or AZ.

We're actually going to be living in the Three Rivers are just south of Sunriver, still have a Bend address though. We get the landscape we want and still have amenities closeby. And the food...OMG the food. Midwest food is just not good, we miss west coast food and all of the amazing food available is one of the top things we're looking forward to as well. :D

And the beer. Bend has a great microbrew scene. Sunriver is lovely. I had friends that used to visit every summer.

I'm not a beer drinker, but my wife enjoys it. Legend Cider in La Pine is what I'm looking forward to when it comes to drinks.
