Great Smoky Mountains Trip

So...eloist, bval, maybe one or two non-members, and I are planning on going to Great Smokey Mountains National Park August 17th through the 19th. My plan is to take off work on the 17th (Friday) and head there. We do plan on finding some trails to ride, as well as hanging around the camp sites. I believe some guys will have their families with them , and I know Saturday evening we are planning on checking out a hot air balloon festival.

Anyways, you guys are more than welcome to come up, ride some trails with us, and/or camp. Additional campsites will need to be reserved though because I believe the ones we have now are all full, so keep that in mind if you do want to camp. We have ours reserved in the Elkmont campground. I didn't create an event for this because it really isn't an official Overland meetup. Just wanted to extend the invite if any of you wanted to meet up and ride/camp.

Tentative plan is to hit up Witt Road near Tellico Plains, TN on Saturday. Like Drew said above, we're taking the kiddos to the Great Smokey Mtn Hot Air balloon Festival Saturday evening in Townsend.

We've got 3 campsites together at Elkmont Campground in the park, however we are pretty much at capacity in those sites (2 vehicle limit per site).
Our sites are G018, G019, and G020. Anyone planning to come might be well-served to grab a spot of their own near us.

The plan is to do some wheeling, chill out, float on the river, and just generally enjoy late summer in the mountains for the weekend.

Sounds like you all should have a good time. If I didn't have commitments already made, I'd be considering it. Looking forward to hear what trails and all you guys find!
