Those clever chinese boffins have been busy inventing a hybrid solar panel which creates an electric current from rain hitting the panel or from the sun.
These things will charge your batteries on a rainy night.
I think that's an awesome idea and an ideal off grid solution for almost all of western europe, simply for the amount of rainfall hours we have vs sunshine hours.
I first heard about these new panels in 2016 and have heard of seen nothing about them since.
Can anyone else shed some light on this subject?

Yeah, the concept is solid, but practical efficiency has been a challenge. Maybe those clever Chinese boffins have made a breakthrough worth checking out!
