I've had a few oil leaks on my truck for a while now and we decided it was time to fix the oil and an exhaust leak that has developed recently.
Must be good stuff in the box when it shows up like this.
My oil pan has some rust holes in it that are seeping oil and it is getting annoying so I picked up a new ford oil pan. I decided to scuff it and spray it with a 2 park bedliner just to hopefully get more life out of this one.
Now on to the fun part. To swap the oil pan requires the removal of the engine. So we pulled it Friday after work. Even had some help from the wife.
And before we called it a night the engine was resting comfortably on a stand.
Found my exhaust leak. Right where I figured it would be.
After some cleanup and turning it over the old crusty pan is off.
Old sealant cleaned off and new pan in it's place.
Now back to the top side for the rest of the oil leaks. The intake plenums were leaking a little oil and boost. Also it was pushing oil past the intake boots. So I resealed the plenums and sleeved the ports for better intake boots and clamps. Which I of course forgot to take pictures of.
The fix/upgrade to exhaust. Some improved turbo up pipes.
And a slight turbo upgrade while I'm at it.
Upgraded the compressor wheel and adjusted some stuff...
Almost all back together.
New condenser in.
Time to finally cleanup my crusty fog lights.
Some wet sanding and a little clear coat. And just like new.
All back together and running like a champ. And no more oil leaks.
