Ok gang,

I have both trays, the washer res relocated and an isolator kit.

I am looking to buy two batteries at the same time. Any suggestions? I'm sure this is a dead horse but the threads I searched didn't answer the specific question.

If I go with Dual AGM's should they both be the same battery?

Hi, I'm a first timer building an FZJ80 for my brother, I used 2 identical AGM batteries from Walmart, I'm told that all the AGM's (in my area) are built by Johnson Controls... No Idea if that's true but they have a full 5 year replacement guarantee and there are gazillions of Walmarts. I wouldn't be surprised if they have one hidden under Death Valley. I am having a little trouble getting my wiring done. More on that later :-(

Yeah, I was just going to do the Oriellys branded AGM's and use my works account to get a discount.

You didn’t mention if you’re planning on a battery isolator of some kind. If you’re running them in true parallel without isolation, they need to be matching batteries.

I don't have your truck but I bought an identical battery as my starting battery (lead). The reason was that the starting battery is 3 yrs old and will probably fail in the next 2 years usually during extreme hot or cold. That's usually when I lose one. Then I will think of options for the second battery when I switch it to the starting position.

I will be asking for wiring help soon as the new radiator and alternator are due on Friday so I'll put it back together and ask y'all to confirm what I'm doing with the dual battery management system, the IBS etc was purchased from Slee and they're really good with support but it's easier to ask stupid questions repeatedly on a forum- hope you folks don't mind.
