I am looking to install a front hitch to mount an accessory winch. Goal is to keep the car light as the truck is my daily commuter when I am not in an adventure. I am a light Overlander and not really going past a category 5 trails as I overland mostly by myself. I just need the extra assurance to get unstuck if need be. My truck is stock and want to keep it as much as it.

Any thoughts/comments/lesson leans about it guys?

For a Tacoma, I'd say a front hitch will weigh about the same as a "permanent " winch mount and even then, for the size winch you need, theres not a lot of weight there. I say just mount the winch "permanent"....purely speculation on my end without weight numbers

There are some very good reasons to not do this. That’s why virtually no one does it. I just can’t think of any this early in the morning.
