Fridge Drop Slide Input

I have been looking at fridge drop slides for my rig but what is available are pretty expensive and most of those would also have to ship from Australia so that adds to the cost. Have thought about trying to build my own but have limited fab tools and or experience. Anybody here have a drop slide for their fridge either purchased or DIY? Looking for ideas and input.

going to fab my own cost for parts $20 bucks sliders/screws/plywood I have large enough bits kicking around....
I just dont see how these things go for $500 and up I just have to shake my head at people who would pay for it....

$1195. I'd buy one if it was cheaper because my drawers are too tall and I have a hard time opening the lid due to the hatch and reaching in. I took out one of my rear seats and put the fridge there but now I'm down a seat. With a new baby on the way and since its my daily driver I'm going to have to put the fridge in the back again. WOW that is expensive we have one pretty much the same over here made by a company called MSA great units for about half that price but i guess freight would be the killa

I have looked at the Tembo and the MSA, just can't justify the money they want. Maybe that will be my next project.

The wife an I purchased an ARB fridge, Slider and Transit bag at Overland Expo West, last year... What I didn't think about was how tall my drawer system was, so we looked at the Alucab tilt slide $500+, the Clearview drop slide $759.00 and the MSA drop slide $899.00.. Sorry as much as I liked the idea of getting something like this, I can't spend the money on it.

As I thought about it I figured alls I needed was a way to create a pivot point for the slider frame, a way to limit how far it tilted and away to keep the cords out of the way... Here is what I came up with:

Home Depot HD hinges as a pivot point
A ratchets strap to limit how far it tilted
a simp retracting ID card holder to keep the cord out of the way.

I've been running it this way for a long time, through about 20 trip and on some early trails and it has held up beautifully..

Nice job. I believe Alu-cab stole your idea. We have the 63qt ARB and the profile is low enough that I can get in and out of it without having to tilt it. But your idea is spot on. I’ll copy it if you don’t mind if I ever decide ours is too high
