Hi, my handle\road name is Krusty given to me a long time ago by friends I once rode with.

I've done a little backpacking\climbing in years gone by, lots of car camping, mostly weekend stuff. So by the definitions I read here I've been "Overlanding" most of my life. I'm not driving anything I'd call a "rig", 2nd gen stock Tacoma Pre-Runner that I sometimes camp out of when my friends and I get together the once or twice a year we seem to be able to manage it. Over the last couple decades I've mostly used my bike to cam and travel from Ark to the northen tip of Newfoundland (great folks up there!) and have met many cool people and made MANY memories...or so I've been told! ;-) but mostly here in Va. Sold my bike about the time the pandemic hit and have been "sheltering in place" (read that "bored in place") since then. Stumbled across this place while surfing youtube thinking about something to breath life into me again and bought a jeep. Now I want to sell the Jeep, and go for something a it more suited to me. Nothing wrong with it but at 5'5" and 56 years old the 35" tires, 3" suspension lift and 2" body lift make it too damn difficult for me to "jump" in. Dunno what I was thinking....but I digress.
Happy to be here and am looking forward to meeting some new friends, explore my world and create some new memories.

Welcome, Krusty

you've definitely come to right place! there is a lot of diversity here and pretty much anything you're in to, you will find plenty of like minded folk on here.
i'm in the swamps of south louisiana, so the only "overlanding" here is by boat. the wife and i have been hitting georgia a lot and love it and started working our way up. any good places in virginia that you recommend?

Welcome from Oklahoma! Have you looked into a set of rockslide engineering sliders? They have a built in step that auto opens/closes when you open the doors making it much easier and less wear and tear on ones joints lol

No, but once at East Coast Rally some "friends" duct taped 2x4's to my boots so I could hold the bike up easier! Good times....

Hey Krusty....welcome aboard. The most important thing, I think most of us can agree, what's more important than your rig is just getting out and being in the great outdoors. Don't worry about the Jeep....just drive it!!

Nah...I don't like driving it, why I want to sell it. Don't need it don't want it
