I've not been to the National Forests down in FL, but typically they are a good place to start looking when first getting into it. I think Ocala National Forest is north of Orlando. Worth investigating.

Ocala National Forest is just east of Ocala. Otherwise you’ll have to go into Georgia or Alabama. I’m going to Ocala this weekend, guarantee to be wet.
