My family has out grown the FJ so I have been building a bigger rig. I’m reaching out inquiring who within the OB world are driving Sequoias. I would love to discuss some of your favorite mods, most useful mods, mods you haven’t found worth the money and mods you are planning to do in the future.

I have an 04 . It's got a 2.5 lift on 285/70-17. Sherpa roof rack .and a few other suspension upgrades. We mainly camp and 4 wheel in it . Im planning on doing a dual batterys , a wench and rock sliders this yr . I've had mine for about 3yrs its been a fantastic truck . And no major maintenance or odd breaks On 245k

That’s super exciting!! I’m in a similar position with my 2005 3” life and 285/70r17. I am looking for some sliders and a bumper later this year. The Aux battery is a brilliant idea! I’m excited to see how your ride progresses. Tell me, how do you like the Sherpa? Price point looks solid but the flat Lazer cut style of the new racks loose me a little. I’ve been a gobi guy for over a decade. So I might just need to progress with the times. Can you mount bike racks, cargo boxes, and any other attachment? Does it have typical load bar style mounts?

Hey Rodger,
I'm currently running LT265/75R-16 BFG K02s on my 2002 SR5 Sequoia. 1" larger than stock and I've got a missing front-end mud flap to prove it. They run a little when the wheels are fully turned one direction. The flaps picked up snow/ice overnight in Montana a few weeks ago and I didn't think to scrape it off. Took a turn and the tire pushed against the snow/ice so hard that it pushed the flap right off. Still love the tires though!

I've got a Thule Pulse (size Large) rooftop box on top and it's great. I drove north/south and back again through the entire state of Wyoming on that same trip. Couldn't believe it but we had hours of sustained winds around 30 MPH with gusts over 60. The Thule was fully packed and it stayed on just fine.

I've also got a Large Gunner dog kennel in the back (one of the best purchases I've ever made -- go read/watch their testimonials). The Sequoia handles the weight with ease.

Two questions:
Has anyone found a front-end rated recovery point that is Sequoia-compatible? Surprisingly, ARB doesn't make one for Sequoia/Tundra.
Can a 2000x2500 ARB touring awning be mounted onto the Sequoia's stock roof rack?

Cheers everyone and thanks for starting this thread Rodger.

-Nic

If you're running the stock bumper, Rough Country makes a front-end tow point for a 2nd Gen Tundra that works with the 1st Gen Sequoias. Bolts right onto the frame.
