Interesting. I come from the firearms instructor/law enforcement side of it, and TQ's are a staple of medical care. I wouldn't go hiking, overlanding, shooting or motorcycle riding without one.Most training programs, as I understand, no longer recommend tourniquets and instead teach use of direct pressure instead.
In each of my vehicles, I have 2 tourniquets, nasal airway, chest needle, basic medications(Benadryl, Tylenol, Immodium, Allergy meds, etc), a skin stapler, suture kit(trained to suture), emergency bandage, gauze, medical tape, kerlex/horse wrap, instant cold packs, SAM Splint and a triangle bandage. I keep that in a 9''x7'' MOLLE pack. On my motorcycle, I carry a US Army IFAK in my saddlebag.
