After lurking over the forums and burning through the OB YouTube channel, I finally joined and today received my OB gear. I have been interested in overlanding for years but never have actually started the process. I’ve owned a Jeep, Tundra, Z71, FJ Cruiser, and now a 2500 Suburban. I keep wanting to jump into the suburban, but the weight of Suburban concerns me. Most Tacoma’s kitted out weight less than the stock weight of the Suburban. I live in NW FL and we do not have much hard ground. It’s softer terrain, mud and sandy bottom creeks. So now is the time for me to decide and figure out what I want to do. I’ve already picked up a lot of valvable information from this group and plan on learning a lot more.

My problem is............move forward with my 05 2500 Suburban or move back to a Toyota. The weight and size of the suburban is my hang up.
