Gas mileage suffers some... on the Bronco I find low range I get better mileage than high range city driving because I’m ideling a long And not stopping.
In our case - highway fuel consumption is around 16.7 L/100 Km, the best we've seen is 15.0 L/100 Km. "offroad" consumption varies depending on terrain,. however the highest we've seen is about 27 L/100 Km, so 38% higher - this was in deep soft dunes.

That would be enjoyable - you're obviously allowed out. We're not- except for "essential purposes" - so, I've been out twice in 5 months for meetings associated with ensuring the food supply chain, and several times (a few Km) for medical reasons. Food is delivered.
Sorry you are so restricted and unable to enjoy every man and woman's God given right to freedom of movement. Is your food supply sufficient ? Do you live in a city or is it a village atmosphere ? Who brings you the food ?
Prevail my friend in Colombia !

Thanks, that's about what I would expect from a lugging engine at slower speeds. I would imagine it would be similar in the mountains with all the up's and down hilly terrain and rutted out roads.

In my opinion it is prudent to carry at least a 5 gallon jerry can externally mounted for emergency sake. All kinds of stupid things can happen both on road or off. Even in my car I always carry a 3 gallon plastic container in my trunk.

I'm the worst person in the world for trying to push my rig too far on a tank of gas before I refill. I need to retrain myself to stop and fill up when the gas gauge reads 1/2 tank instead of near empty. My problem comes from wanting to stop as little as possible when I travel. When I had small kids it always cost me an extra ten bucks at every stop because of the kids wanting something they really didn't need. Mom was no help on that issue because she was as bad as them. LOL

P.S. In some of the small towns on the back roads they close the station down after 7 pm. Not all stations have the credit card acceptable gas pumps in these places. I like driving at night so I have encountered this many time and have learned to carry extra gas when on the road and especially off road.

In fact, in our experience consumption in the mountains is about the same as highway consumption. We live in the most mountainous country in the Western Hemisphere, and get 16-17L/100 Km. Slow going on rocky trails is a bit higher but not much.

It’s 25 miles to the the store from my dads house, my dad can’t drive any more, so I have to go to the store for him at least 3 times a week to make sure he gets his medicine. Round trip from my house to his house is 50 miles, the store is a crossed the street from me. Now that’s just to take care of his medical needs. We don’t have food delivery here... with a population of under 25,000 people in the whole county spread over 2500 square miles, no way can we get food delivered.

I admire what you're doing. It would be great to have the space you have, although obviously it's a challenge right now.
