Extendable Rack RTT Trailer Build

  • Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

I love the simplicity and functionality of your build!

How has the tent "extender" worked out for you? Care to share some details on the materials and building method you used on that setup? I quickly learned that the high RTT rack on my "Yeller" trailer build is too high when on technical roads and need to find a solution to lower it.
Hi! Thanks, it is working great so far.

The scissor jack system has been working well. Need to refine a few things but it works well so far.

I used a combination of 1.5 and 1.25" square tube like this. The 1.25" slides into the 1.5" perfectly. So I just jack up the tent and pin it when it gets up to the height I want.

Got a little more work done on the trailer. Got the kitchen box a bit more organized and made a counter top off the side of the kitchen box.

Also go the water system moving in the right direction.

Also added LED light strips under the RTT and on the lip of the kitchen box (sorry no pics)

We are going on our first fall camping trip this weekend. Looking forward to getting it all set up and seeing what else I want to work on . I always have a list of to do's after a camping trip.
