Sort of. The cube is indeed a cube, it has a "roof" with a vent in the center under the canopy. You definitely need both the canopy and cube as the cube is just a nylon sack. The cube, canopy, and shelves run about 60lbs all in with steel pegs. We could save a few pounds by switching to aluminum pegs. Usually, I run a tarp from the back of the rig to the front of the tent to create a dinning area. In the summer, if we have access to shore power hook ups, there is a hatch in the cube for a small AC unit which is really sweet for beach camping in August.

We decided, for a few pounds more than a Gazelle, it is really comfortable and the small time penalty for set-up and break-down is worth it. [This weekend it took us 20 minutes from parking to cocktails when we arrived, and 40 minutes to get packed up this morning]. I tend to basecamp and then go fly fishing along the river, so a RTT is kind of a pain.

If your use case is similar, it is a great way to camp.
