Someone mentioned once on one of the threads CB channel 16. ???
I usually run CH4 on everything (cb, frs, gmrs) just so it's one number to remember. But I'm going away from CB. The little FRS or GMRS HTs are a lot simpler to get and use than a full blown CB install for most people and if you get the GMRS license it covers your entire household and gets you up to 50w vs CBs 4W.

Bonfire is after the flea market is over, I'll have to check with Adam for specifics. I was wanting to head over to the brewery between 3-4 maybe and grab some BBQ and good beer.

Terry, looking at the FRS/GMRS freq’s.. this is where I get confused... ch. 4 states both FRS and GMRS, so would I need a license to operate on ch. 4 or no?

No, that's the beauty of it. FRS and GMRS share some frequencies. FRS has a low power limit, 1/2W, where GMRS has a higher limit but either can use that frequency. So if you're just starting out, you can use your Wal-Mart HT to talk to the guys with GMRS licenses. Then when you feel like it's worth the money, pop for the license, get higher power gear and cover your whole household with one license.

Gotcha. depending on who I talk to , one says yes the other says no. So I'm going with the NO. Thank you Sir.

@Hafaday and I are meeting up on 360 just west of 288 somewhere around 8 am. We don't have a location, but I'm looking at WaWa for a quick in and out breakfast. If anyone wants to join us....

Well, I got to chat with Jim a bit on the repeater on the way in but I missed you both at the flea market. Sorry guys, maybe I'll catch up with y'all some other time.

It was nice meeting you too. Had a good time. Met some good people and bought some stuff I needed.

We may have talked, just didn't know it. Good talking to you on the air driving in. Getting the old truck ready, hope to do some trails this spring if not sooner. Sure to meet you soon.
