I'm up for anything outdoors. But I will have to wait until after 1 April. I don't get back until late March.

AOAA has camping now and they opened up an "overland" loop.Could do Rausch, Anthracite, or The Rock. Twin Mountain would be nice, has on site camping and owner is an overlander so park is set up that way a but more. Plus he has a sweet Unimog.

I've been trying to find the maps from Mountain State Overland and am lost. I can find their site but no maps. Would you happen to have a link?Plenty of places in GW Nat Forest- Flagpole Knob west of Harrisonburg past Rawley Springs- There are no campgrounds on this trail just look for a fire ring or make your own- legal in GW Nat Forest. You can camp at Flagpole- but the wind runs a constant 20mph or so- but a great view
Also the fire roads are good for camping and are everywhere.
Peters Mill Run is a decent short trail- camp anywhere along trail- look for the fire rings- can be crowded on weekends- I like this time year or better when snowing.
You'll need a pass to use the trails from the local ranger station- some stores carry them-
I get a yearly pass- $35 I think.
Also check out Mountain State Overland- they some decent routes for download- $15 per- I've done Morgantown to Frost (Wytheville)- about 400 miles- need a week- I break it up in legs
Hope this helps

Send me your email, I'll pass my 2 alongWhat acts of kindness would a fella have to do to get in on the sharing of some of those MSO maps? I was about to buy some of them when they were pulled.
I will be in your area at the end of April. I will be running Potts Mountain Jeep TrailI'm about an hour north of Roanoke, if anyone wants to get together in this area sometime, there are some nice campsites near this area and I know of a few routes for stock vehicles as well as a few routes I've yet to explore but would like to. I talked to @DeltaNine and @Big E about a possible routes in this area and was exploring routes to get to Staunton from here in Covington over as much dirt as I could identify on Google Maps.
We could do a day on the dirt locally with maybe lunch up by either Lake Moomaw or Douthat Lake or if someone wants to stretch it into an overnight or weekend thing, I'm sure we could scout out trails to occupy the time!

Awesome! That's a fun trail, but my trail rig has been out of commission for a while and is not looking like it's going to get better soon. Are y'all going to be camping at The Pines?I will be in your area at the end of April. I will be running Potts Mountain Jeep Trail
