Good morning, I would be happy to try and facilitate the meeting on SUN 05/19, in your absence Armin if best for the mass (albeit big shoes to try and fill). It may be best to move the June meeting to SUN 06/02 as suggested due to a trip conflict on the SUN 06/09 date. Whatever is best for all, happy to help how I may. Meeting topic suggestions welcomed. I understand some may be on a trip with Derrick from 05/12-05/19; have a great trip!

Hahaha - your build looks amazingly clean to me! I will volunteer to show off dirtiest implementation that has yet to cause significant injury or death ;-) I wouldn't mind someone going through the new switches in detail - I'm looking at implementing something with a Victron Cerbo GX and it is making my brain hurt.

Hello Fellow OBers,

This is not an official trip, but I wanted to get the word out to you now so you can make plans if interested. Janet and I will be making an "exploratory" trip through the Lost Coast region looking for new places to camp. See a map snippet below.

We plan to leave on Sunday, June 9, and likely return on Friday June 15, but perhaps a day or two longer. We will not be visiting Usal on this trip, but do plan to traverse the King Range and spend a couple of days on the Klamath River.

A couple of folks expressed interest in the temperature controlled 12v relay that I mentioned during Armin's excellent presentation yesterday. Here are some deets and pics:

Fan (comes in many sizes) - -
if the link doesn't work, search GDSTIME 8cm 80mm X 80mm X 15mm 12v Brushless Dc Cooling Fan

Oh, and here's a link and pic of the thermal camera I use to check on the changes I make to ensure nothing is heating up too much. Any of you are welcome to borrow mine or check it out on one of our trips.

Hello Friends ,

Took a run up to Leavitt Lake yesterday to check the road and lake conditions. The road is quite passable, but ongoing erosion now makes 4x4 and high clearance recommended. One creek crossing was a bit sharp, so decent departure angle useful, although my Ford Fn Ranger had no issues (2" lift on 33's). For the fellow at the last meeting who asked about getting his truck camper up there, I spoke with a truck camper owner at the lake and he said no problems, they just had to wait a couple of time for the top-wobbles to settle down before proceeding. I'll likely be using my winch more than once with the trailer in tow.

The lake is in awesome condition! Wildflowers everywhere, no mosquitoes, still a bit of snow on the cliffs. Anglers report pulling Browns, Brooks and even Goldens from either the main lake or the smaller lake just above. And the mother of the truck camper family said she snorkles for lost lures & weights while the dad fishes, and that there are just oodles of fish visible from underwater.
