Started my XJ today and noticed the door locks won’t unlock and the windows roll down slowly. Is this a problem with the controls?

Dual battery isn't absolutely necessary. I ran a winch for years on a single battery, just make sure your battery is in good shape. The XJ doesn't have a ton of space under the hood for a second battery to start with. The stock alternator on the XJ puts out 90ish amps. You can upgrade to a 113 amp alt off of a Grand Cherokee or a Duran go with a little grinding modification. It’s a new battery and I believe when they put the new engine in the changed the alternator. I forget what the amps on the battery are. I’ll check that out tomorrow. I started it because it was cold out last night. What amperage should the battery be? I know when I get the winch I’ll need to go to a dual battery system. The truck was just sitting when I tried the windows. I’ll try and look at it more tomorrow. Thank you

Battery size originally is a Group 34 size battery with 650ish CCA IIRC.

My XJ is a 2000. I can’t wait to register it. Waiting for the dealer to pay us back for the 150 with the rotten frame so we can just transfer the plates.Sorry forgot what year your XJ is. Late models (97+) used Group 34 batteries and earlier models took Group 58 batteries. I think a 34 will fit in a an earlier model but can't remember right off, I'd need to do some NAXJA searching.
