My tools are mostly older Craftsman with some random S-K, Stanley, some others - and some Duralast from Autozone. That last category represents anything I discovered was lacking while mid-repair in the driveway. I've amassed quite a lot of tools and skills over the last 30 years for someone who is not a mechanic.

Long and short is that I am working on gathering the necessary tools and sizes for each specific vehicle (I have a 14 GMC Sierra and a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee). I am trying to identify needs and compile, piecemeal, vintage Craftstsman sets for each while keeping everything else at the "hacienda". That way I have good trail tools, but at low Nairobi prices. As a fall back, on an as needed basis, I'll likely get some more Duralast and/or pick up some Husky along the way because of the warranty and nationwide outlets, start mixing them in with my trail tool kits for whatever I'm missing.

Budget wise, I went to harbor freight and bought what I needed and put it all in a bag. Will be replacing it when I can get better tools. But for now these tools will work.

I keep a mismatched collection of random sockets, wrenches, etc, that I have acquired over the years in my rig. I supplement them with a couple sets of newer tools from harbor freight.

My expensive tools are in my toolbox in my garage, but I do have some snap-on tools in my truck kit, mainly ratchets. Those were garage sale/ swap meet tools though, and didn’t cost nearly as much as they would have on the tool truck. The rest of the truck kit is a mix of craftsman, and other lesser known, but quality brands.

All the tools that I needed to build the truck are carried on the truck. I don't really have a better place for them.

I also have the World's largest collection of power tools. I keep this scattered among the sheds, basements and garages of every woman that I have shacked-up with in the last 40 years.
