Hey all, I have a 5th Gen 4Runner SR5 Premium with the 3rd row seats and I'd just as soon pull those out to save a little weight and make some more room in the back. Who else here as done this? And what did you do with the back once you pulled the 3rd row out? I'm looking for ideas...thanks!

Pull it out, then make your own deck plate with 3/4" plywood and automotive carpet. You can locate anchors where needed.

I did the same thing in my newer Tahoe starting here:

I pulled the third row a while from my 4th Gen 4runner. Only used them a few times over the last 4 years. I have just kept them stored up on a shelf in my workshop.

Wish it didn't have the 3rd row because it changes how the 2nd row folds flat.

I will say the Third row is great for road trips with the kids. One boy will sit in the way back and the other will sit on the opposite side in the 2nd row. Give them tons of space to spread out and they can barely reach each other. Cut down on their "I am bored so I am going to entertain myself by tormenting by brother"

A Labrador Retriever would fit nicely in the back!
