No one can have failed to see the pandemic of the Coronavirus causing social and financial chaos across the world!
In nearly every country the best advice to try and control the spread and avoid your health care systems being overwhelmed is to stay at home and where needed self isolate.
Currently there is no miracle cure with possibly none for some time to come. People are dying in their thousands throughout the world and unless we all all do our part this will go on for longer and more people will die.
Self isolating and social distancing is not just about stopping you getting the virus but also about not passing it to others more at risk and who can possibly not recover.
So for us we are social distancing at home and both our overland vehicles are parked up indefinitely. In the short term we will do maintenance and prep our vehicles and plan trips for when we emerge from this viral nightmare.
We are not in lock down yet but here in the UK many are refusing to follow government advice and are still congregating in large numbers at beaches, malls and parks.
We have people jumping in vehicles and heading to our small communities in the highlands and islands where the virus levels are low but also where the medical facilities are much reduced and cannot cope with the influx of incomers trying to escape the cities and possibly bringing the virus with them.
So a lock down and travel restrictions are almost inevitable.
It’s now time to accept your responsibility and become part of the solution and not part of the problem.
Stay at home unless you are a key worker and practice the principles of social distancing otherwise this chaos will go on longer and more of our loved ones will die?
