Here is my old rig, potentially going the same way with my current build.
Bought the car stock:

Fast forward about a third of the way through the build and had a 2" lift, 32" tires and some rock sliders.

Soon after I was chasing more approach angle and a nice straw to go through water.

It was at this stage I was wheeling and exploring a lot more and found my stock tub was quite long, kept getting hung up and doing damage to the tub.
Lucky for me, my brother is a truck/ trailer builder by trade so got some ideas and got him to make me a tray.
I wanted a short tray that would allow me plenty of departure clearance and an open bed to tie down everything I need for camping etc.

The tray project was on and off and took around 10 months of chopping and changing to complete. Mainly because my brother had to work and had his own things to do. But was super happy how it came out.
Being steel was super heavy but made it a lot cheaper to make. If I were to go down this road again I'd go aluminum, purely on the weight factor.

Finishing touches before the final welds and paint.

Once the tray was finally done, I wanted a permanent box setup that I could use for storage and my dual battery for Auxiliary lights, fridge etc when I was out camping.

This was one of my favorite parts of the build. It made camping that bit more interesting, being able to have a single spot for everything to come into and out of.
Finally put it to use on a weekend trip onto the beach. During this trip I found out the short comings of both a fully steel tray and being so short and not having sides...

Being a custom built tray, there were no sides or tray accessories I could buy to suite.
I ended up buying some single cab tray sides and cutting down to suite.
I also wanted to canvas the whole tray so I could throw gear in the back out of the elements.

This was essentially the end of the whole build. A few more things were added to the Auxiliary setup and the tray. In the end, the setup worked really well for me, as I mainly had it setup for 4wheeling and served me well.
I ended up selling this rig and buying my brothers which I knew well already.
So begins Triton v2
