It's pretty much a road tire. For anything beyond a graded dirt road you probably wouldn't be happy with it. It's probably not a bad tire just not good for anything offroad.

Is there a tire you would recommend? This is my daily driver so I do not want too much noise when on the highway.
I also have a 19'' rim. so not too many options for a 255 55 19

Ah, I'm guessing you have a range rover? If so this guy @lvivier can tell you what he put on his.

That or the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac looks like your only good choices. But it may not be available in CA and it's not rated for severe snow. I think they make an 18" rim for the LR4. That would increase your tire choices by a lot.
