I wish loggers here would go ham, but iys still all cb.
You don't need a license for a cb and you're usually talking with other drivers around you so there's no need for the added expense of a license and extra equipment.
A few of the guys I drove with added linear amps to our radios that we could switch on if we wanted to get out a ways. And yes, we knew it was illegal

I currently have dual band amateur radio and GMRS. A few good points about logging have made me wonder if I should grab a CB, even though locally FRS is king.

Check what the local logging companies use, they are pretty good about sharing. Up here it is government mandated so it is a little easier.
